Kisii, Wednesday May 16, 2018
Parents with school age children suffering disability in Nyaribari Chache constituency, Kisii County have been urged to seek bursary from the Constituency Development Fund.
Speaking at Keumbu Division while issuing bursary cheques yesterday, area legislator Richard Tong’i appealed to such parents to desist from hiding their children saying they stood to lose from such benefits.
Noting that the constituency had set aside Sh.25m for bursary, Tongi said special cases needed to benefit with others as education was foundation to success for all children.
The legislator applauded the parents with physically challenged children who had reached out to him for assistance, saying Keumbu and Ibeno Division had already received their allocations, while Kiogoro and Bosongo would receive theirs in the near future.
Urging the national government to implement the pledge they made to the nation during campaigns, Tongi, joined other voices praising President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for their handshake but noted that it needed to translate to development agenda for the nation.
