Kitui County Governor Charity Ngilu today signed a Memorundum of Understanding between the County Government of Kitui and Nairobi University.
Vice Chancellor Prof Peter Mbithi signed for the university.
The MoU is for the development of a Spatial Plan for Kitui County. Speaking during the signing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor said they are ready to give full support to Kitui, with the diverse wealth of expertise the university has.
Governor Ngilu said Kitui County is very rich in minerals and other resources and the MoU will help bring professionalism and specialization which will bring out the best output of every project.
“For development to be achieved, you need Four factors: land, labour, Capital, technology and Leadership, and we have all the factors in Kitui” Ngilu said.
She further said the signing of the MoU signifies the development of a well structured way on how to develop the County with full utilization of its professionals.
Governor Ngilu was accompanied by, Acting County Secretary Alex Kimanzi, ministers for Lands, infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Engineer Jacob Kakundi, John Makau of Environment, the Legal advisor Rachael Osendo and the Head of Manifesto Implementation Unit Mr Nene Nzyuko.
