Machakos County: April 2/4/2018
The declaration which was made in a meeting held at Kiamba Primary which is in Koma Rock, Matungulu in Machakos, was attended by leaders from the three counties of Kitui, Makueni and Machakos.
Among the 10 points in the declaration included the community to support all initiatives to unite Kenya for economic, social and political development and rule of law.
The community also decleared to support devolution that promotes the well-being of the people of Kenya and the fight to conserve environment through the burn of charcoal and sand harvesting.
Speaking during that event, Governor Kaluki Ngilu pledged support of unity of purpose for the Akamba people. She said the unity ought to address defense of resources and reversal of the advances of poverty.
Governor Ngilu also pledged support for former Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka on his bid to contest for the leadership of this country.
Although the meeting was held at Machakos County, it’s Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua did not attend citing it to be intended of political interest instead of addressing aspects that are affecting the residents of the three counties of ukambani.
Other leaders who addressed the meeting included Makueni Governor Prf. Kivutha Kibwana and the former Machakos Senator Mr. Johnston Nduya Muthama, who called for those leaders who did not attend the meeting to be forsaken by the community. Something which Governor Kibwana didn’t support.
